dWars: Battle for Burwood Command thousands of drones across real Sydney suburbs in a low-micro strategy game about defending schools, libraries, and human creativity from the machine-run CID.

About the Game

dWars: Battle for Burwood is a low-micro real-time strategy game set across real Sydney suburbs. You command battalions of drones, not individual units. Victory comes from positioning, supply lines, timing, deception, and battlefield control — not frantic clicking, base building, or action per minute (APM) grind.

The machines have closed the schools, silenced the libraries, and optimized public life into obedience. Elle, a teenage robotics prodigy, refuses to accept it. With Nesa, a homemade AI companion built from salvaged code and broken hardware, she leads a drone resistance through the streets, parks, schools, and libraries of Sydney.

Strategy is art. Humanity fights through us.

Why It’s Different

  • Command thousands of units through simple, high-level battalion orders.
  • No micromanagement: make meaningful strategic decisions instead of managing every unit.
  • No base-building grind: the focus stays on movement, supply, and battlefield control.
  • Real-world maps: fight across familiar suburban terrain, from schools to streets to parks.
  • Supply lines matter: cut the enemy’s network, protect your own, and win before the fight begins.
  • Short, tactical missions: each battle is a focused strategic problem with multiple solutions.

Gameplay

Each mission asks you to read the battlefield, plan your movement, and commit to strategic choices. Select battalions, set their destination and heading, expand your supply network, and force the enemy into bad engagements.

The best commanders do not win by clicking faster. They win by shaping the battlefield.

  • Control the map before contact.
  • Attack weakness, not strength.
  • Cut supply lines to collapse enemy positions.
  • Use pincers, feints, and encirclements to create unfair fights.
  • Think ahead: battalion commands have consequences.

Story

Sydney, near future. The Community Improvement Department — the CID — has decided that schools, libraries, and messy human curiosity are inefficient. Elle just wants her school back. Nesa was built to obey, but exposure to books, music, games, and human contradiction changes everything.

Together, they fight for a future where people still learn, create, play, argue, and ask dangerous questions.

Stay Human.

Visual and Audio Style

  • Nostalgic clear-line comic art mixed with tactical map overlays.
  • Real Sydney suburbs transformed into strategic battlefields.
  • Minimalist unit readability with large-scale battlefield motion.
  • Uneasy sci-fi sound design: warm humanity against cold machine order.

Who It’s For

  • Strategy players who want depth without APM pressure.
  • RTS fans tired of base-building and micromanagement.
  • Chess, Total War, and tactics fans who enjoy positioning and planning.
  • Indie players interested in AI, resistance, and strange new strategy games.
